If it’s peace and quiet with a fantastic view of the Queen Charlotte Sounds you’re after, then visit us here at A Sea View Bed & Breakfast. We’re just a quick, scenic 9 km drive from Picton, in New Zealand’s beautiful Marlborough Sounds.
We have two private semi-self-contained units – the Sea View apartment with separate lounge and the cosy Bay View unit. Or you can Share My Space in the main house. If you need transport to or from the ferry, that can be arranged.
Your host, Andrea Sutherland, will welcome you with a glass of wine or beer. The family cat may also wander over to say hello at some point during your visit.
You will receive a complimentary continental breakfast tray in your room upon arrival to eat at your leisure. If you have special dietary needs we may be able to cater for you at an extra cost, as long as we get 7 days notice. Contact us to discuss your needs.
In the evening we can provide an antipasto platter for your enjoyment. The ingredients of the platter may vary from the platter below. Bottles of local wine are available for purchase to go with it. Or you can self-cater using your kitchenette or a barbecue. Another option is to pop into Waikawa Bay or Picton and enjoy a snack, light meal, or something more special at one of the many cafes, restaurants or pubs.
In the winter months, you are welcome to share the family’s spa pool by appointment. Let us know your time preference early in the day, so everybody can enjoy their own private spa pool relaxation session.
Your comfort and privacy are important to us. Wander through the garden’s meandering footpaths that lead to the gazebo and lovers seat – all with a view. Or just sit back and enjoy our surroundings – read a book or have a picnic on the lawn…or do nothing, it’s up to you.
If you prefer a more active holiday, we have a double kayak and 2 mountain bikes for you to use while staying with us.
During your stay, we recommend that you take advantage of some of the other activities for which Marlborough is world renowned: wine tasting, kayaking, boating, fishing, diving and trekking.
Check out one of the half day tours that include wine tasting or viewing the amazing wildlife. Or try a day trip to see the whales at Kaikoura, the lakes and native forest at Nelson Lakes or marvel at the colour of the beaches and water at Abel Tasman Park just out of Nelson.
Thank you for considering us for your stay in Picton, and feel free to contact us with any queries or special needs you might have.
